Trysen joined ASWEFA part-time in 2016, working in the office as an administrator while stepping in as an instructor when needed. In 2022, he transitioned into a full-time role, becoming the Hamilton Branch Manager as well as an instructor and assessor. He trains students in Forklifts, Wheels, Tracks, Rollers, MEWPs, Dangerous Goods Endorsements, and Forklift Unit Standards for school courses, helping students earn credits and a forklift license.
With a training philosophy centered on patience and empathy, Trysen is known for his calm and supportive teaching approach. He believes that no well-intentioned student purposely makes mistakes and always focuses on helping students build confidence through clear explanations and hands-on learning. His approachable style makes even the most nervous students feel at ease.
Outside of training, Trysen is a devoted Brisbane Broncos supporter and never misses a chance to back them in ASWEFA's NRL tipping competition—a passion that often comes up in conversation with his students!
