Articulated Forklift

Forklifts

Versatile machine, able to pivot the front and rear sections while lifting to 16m

What is an Articulated Forklift?

An articulated forklift has a unique design that enables exceptional maneuverability in tight spaces. A central hinge in the body of the machine allows for the front and rear sections to rotate independently, up to 90 degrees in either direction.

Key Features of Articulated forklifts

  1. Design and Maneuverability: A body that can pivot and rotate, allowing for navigation through very narrow aisles (1.6 - 2 m depending on the model).
  2. Versatile: Articulated forklifts can perform the function of multiple machines, providing the lifting capacity of a reach truck, versatility of a counterbalance forklift and the space-saving benefits of a VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) machine. This multi-functionality eliminates the need for multiple equipment types, streamlining operations and reducing costs.
  3. Terrain options: Articulated forklifts can operate on various floor surfaces, both inside warehouses and in outdoor environments, making them ideal for businesses with diverse optional needs.
  4. Safety Features: Modern articulated forklifts come equipped with advanced operational and safety features including AC electric motors for improved performance and energy efficiency, wire or rail guidance systems enabling speeds up to 16 km/h for increased productivity and models with lithium batteries and fast chargers, reducing carbon footprint and operational costs

Articulated Forklift Considerations

Consider the following factors when operating an articulated forklift:

  • Required lift height: Assess the maximum height you require, some models can reach up to 16 metres.
  • Load capacity: Evaluate your maximum load capacity, models often range from 1.5 - 2.5 tons
  • Operating Environment: Consider the terrain including indoor and outdoor requirements along with aisle limitations of your facility.
