Wheeled Loader

Wheels, Tracks & Rollers

A front-mounted bucket, articulated body, and pivoting design makes for a versatile heavy machine

What is a Wheeled Loader?

Wheeled loaders, also known as front-end loaders, are a robust piece of heavy machinery, characterised by their distinctive bucket mounted on the front of an articulated body. A pivot-joint allows for the front to pivot enabling the front and rear sections to move independently. A wheeled loader uses an arm to lift and lower its bucket, and a bell crank is used to open and close the bucket. This design allows for a versatile and highly maneuverable piece of machinery.

Key Features of a Wheeled Loader

  • Articulated steering: Enables tight turning radius for enhanced mobility and maneuverability across different industries
  • Versatile attachments: Can be fitted with various tools beyond the standard bucket including forks, grapples, dozer blades and snow blades allowing for use in the agriculture, construction and logistics industries
  • High lifting capacity: Capable of handling heavy loads with ease
  • All-terrain performance: Suitable for both indoor and outdoor operations on rough and uneven terrain
  • Technological and safety features: modern wheeled loaders include safety features including tyre pressure monitoring systems, advanced hydraulic systems to improve efficiency and control when handling various materials, emission control technologies such as DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) and SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) systems to meet environmental standards.

Wheeled Loader Considerations

The following factors are important to consider when operating a wheeled loader:

  1. Size and capacity: Match the machine to your typical load requirements and lifting height, considering whether a compact, medium or large wheeled loader best suits your requirements.
  2. Fuel efficiency: Look for models with advanced engine technologies to reduce operating costs and comply with emissions standards. Consider if electric or hybrid models are suitable for your business.
  3. Versatility: Consider which attachments enable multi-purpose use within your business.
  4. Operator comfort: Ergonomic cabins with good visibility can increase productivity.
  5. After-sales support: Ensure reliable parts and service backup throughout New Zealand.
